She also completed a neuroradiology fellowship at Groupe Hospitalier Pitié-Salpétrière, Paris, France, and a research fellowship at Johns Hopkins Hospital. She earned her Ph.D. in medical sciences from Federal University of Ceara, Brazil, before completing further fellowships in neuroradiology, PET-CT and nuclear medicine/molecular imaging, and advanced diagnostic neuroradiology from Johns Hopkins University.
