Background
Dr. Lujan-Zilbermann is a physician in the infectious disease program at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. He joined the medical staff in 2019 and primarily sees patients on the main campus in St. Petersburg. He is board certified in pediatrics, pediatric infectious diseases and is also a certified principal investigator for clinical trials.
He earned his medical degree from Universidad Francisco Marroquín in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at Schneider Children’s Hospital of Long Island Jewish Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, where he also served as chief resident. He then completed a fellowship in the departments of infectious diseases and virology-molecular biology at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and Le Bonheur Children’s Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee.
His clinical and research interests include cytomegalovirus, influenza, immunizations and pediatric/adolescent HIV infections.
