Background
Dr. Freysdottir specializes in neonatology with the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Maternal, Fetal & Neonatal Institute. She serves as the medical director of neonatology at HCA Florida Trinity Hospital, through an affiliation with Johns Hopkins All Children’s. She joined the hospital staff in 2020.
Before joining Johns Hopkins All Children’s, Dr. Freysdottir was clinical medical director of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola.
Her clinical and research interests include quality and safety, hypoxic respiratory failure and intestinal failure.
Dr. Freysdottir earned her medical degree from the University of Iceland in Reykjavík, Iceland. She completed her internship and residency in the Department of Pediatrics at University of Connecticut/Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. She also completed a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine in the neonatology department of Baylor College of Medicine health care affiliates in Houston.
