Background
Dr. Luciano specializes in neonatology with the Johns Hopkins All Children’s Maternal, Fetal & Neonatal Institute. He serves as medical director of the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and division chief of newborn medicine. He joined the hospital staff in 2020.
Dr. Luciano was most recently with AdventHealth, caring for patients in several of the hospital system’s neonatal intensive care units (NICU), and before that, at Tampa General Hospital’s NICU.
His clinical interests include management of complex medical patients, and his research interests include neonatal immunity and medical education.
Dr. Luciano earned his medical degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. He completed a pediatric residency at University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and a fellowship in neonatology at Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital/Case Western Reserve University, in Cleveland. He also completed a postdoctoral immunology research fellowship at Case Western Reserve University.
Dr. Luciano also holds a Master of Science in medical education leadership from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in Biddeford, Maine.
